Parent newsletter, April 2019

Welcome to Term 5’s edition of WASPS newsletter. For those of you who are new to Pre-School, this newsletter is designed to keep you up-to-date with the latest events, new starters and other pre-school news. Other information and events will also be posted on the WASPS facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WASPSpreschool/ and our new phone app, see below.

This terms topic is ‘Pets’ and ‘All About Me’. We will be doing a range of activities including drawing our own faces and looking at similarities and differences, creating graphs and expanding mathematical terminology by finding out what pets everyone has and what heights people are. We hope to have a few visits throughout the term by a vet, a dentist and a therapy dog handler and more. We would love you to get involved by sending in photographs of your child and their pets. You can do this by airdrop, via the facebook page or print it out at home and bring it in.

Kids Nearly New Sale

There are still tables available for the ‘Kids Nearly New Sale’ on Saturday 8th June. Tables are priced at £10 if booked before 1st May or £15 thereafter. If you would like a table then please email: events4wasps@gmail.com.

Our New Path

We are pleased to hear such a great response regarding out new pathway and the children have already been making the most of it on the bikes and scooters. We would like to advise parents that whilst the path is new and has been resealed and with the weather being rainy that it can be slippy at times so please take care when walking along the path.

Our Schools App

Did you see our new phone app? Recently we placed a letter in your child’s draw that gave you information on how to download ‘OurSchoolsApp.’ If in the event of a school closure, fundraising event, term date changes, trips and more, you will have the information as soon as possible sent directly to your phone via a push notification. We have tested the app over the past few months and feel that the notifications for the calendar alone will be useful for all. If you need any help downloading or finding the application on your device, then do not hesitate to speak to Joey or Synetta.

Road Access – Green Lane

A local resident from Green Lane, opposite school, has informed us of road resurfacing work due to happen soon and would like to ask parents to not to use that road during that time.
